INSHORE FISHING GUIDE

JOEY FARAH

Hometown: Corpus Christi, TX

Joey Farah has spent his career reading the flats most guides won’t touch. Based out of Corpus Christi and running Farah’s Backwater Adventures out of Marker 37, he’s built a reputation as one of the most tenured guides on the Texas coast working the Upper Laguna Madre and Baffin Bay, water that demands patience, precision, and a willingness to get skunked before you get dialed in. He got his start running the shorelines as a from then managing his dad’s bar before trading the taps for the flats full-time, and that background shows in how he fishes: no shortcuts, no gimmicks, just miles of wading and drifting until the trout give up their secrets.

Off the water, Farah is as much storyteller as sportsman - an outdoor writer, surfer, and bow hunter who treats the coast as one continuous playground rather than a single disciplined pursuit. That range is exactly why he’s flying ANETIK colors now: he’s not a one-species specialist chasing a single paycheck, he’s a waterman who happens to guide for a living. Whether he’s chasing trophy trout along the King Ranch shoreline at first light or trading rods for a bow come fall, Farah brings the same read-the-conditions, adapt-or-go-home mentality that ANETIK builds gear around. He’s chaos with a game plan, which is the whole point.
