ANETIK's 97% Sun Protection is provided by the knitted weave of the fabric. That density of the fabric's knitted weave is what provides the user's UV Protection over the skin and that Sun Protection functionality is permanent. It does not "wear off". There is a reality of natural fabric wear that happens to all fabrics over extended use and heavy exposure to the elements, but ANETIK's general Sun Protection benefits are built into the fabric structure.

ANETIK does not apply supplemental wash of chemicals for temporary effects like cool touch feel, antimicrobial, insect repellent, etc. Those noted chemical additive washes slowly wash out of the fabric (most last only 10 washes total) Chemicals also wash off onto the user so we focus on staying away from all chemical additive fabric treatments for those reasons.

I purchased the ultra guide hoodie and so far so good. Some suggestions for a backpacking version…
1. Switch from snaps to buttons on the placket - that way they could be repaired in the field. But keep Snaps on the pockets as they are better than buttons for ease of open and close.
2. Switch to single layer breast pockets. Double layer adds weight, not much more functionality, and also makes it hotter in chest area - where you really don’t want to be hot.
With that, you drop a little weight, improve the functionality, and perhaps have the best backpacking shirt on the market.

-long enough sleeves so I can comfortably use the thumb holes
-snap openings allow superior ventilation control
-very comfortable, especially the material on the sleeves and hood
-looks nicer in person than on the website; the two-tone is a nice touch
-appreciate the inclusion on a glasses cleaner on the hem
-good length, stays in place and doesn’t ride up when using a hip belt
-dries quickly
Bottom line: looks good, fits good, lots of features, excellent choice for backpacking

The best of the best. When it comes to universal outdoor sun gear Anetik is premium active heat appreal.
Their VINT tech is the best cooling system ive used against top competitors like Sitka, Patagonia, Skwala, Pelagic etc. I just wish their was more colours.. pastles and black.
Excellent product - runs a little small so I’d say size up one size.
I love the ANETIK Hoodies so much that this is my 18th one that I purchased. I would have purchased more but some colors are out of stock. The softness and comfortable fit is hands down amazing. It keeps me cool when I’m in the hot Sun and keeps me warm when temperatures do dip a little. The Craftsmanship and quality materials use to make them is top notch. I will be ordering my 19th one soon if the color I want is in stock. I highly recommend them for outdoor use. They also look very sharp around town or when I’m catching a flight to my next destination fishing trip.
This is my normal size and it is nearly 2 sizes too small
Due to the mixed materials it doesn't have the same stretch as the other hooded L/S. You will likely need to order a size larger than you normally would.

Have many of the performance hoodies from Anetik and love them, so I took a chance on the Ultraguide. Couldn’t be happier with it. The fit is amazing for my athletic build, and I can tell it’s an amazingly well designed garment.
Great all-around hoodie, with lots of pockets, which is usually missing on sun hoodies. Could use an extra snap on the neck area. I found that I’ve gotten wee bit too much sun in that little spot, not covered by the top button that currently exist.

The hooded shirt is just what I wanted and fits fine. I ordered one size larger than needed so could wear over other clothes.
I’ve owned every flyfishing hoody ever made and this is by far the softest, coolest, most comfortable fabric I’ve ever worn..
The sleeve and hood material doesn’t match the main bod color.
I tried 2 other button down hoodies that I sent back because they just didn’t work. A friend recommended Anetik and finally I found a button down hoodie designed by people who fish! The biggest difference is that the hood wasn’t added as an afterthought; it was designed to work on windy flats or hot sunny days with draw strings that insure it will remain on your head. And the pockets! 5to be exact - 3 more than the others I tried. This fishing shirt is perfect - don’t change a thing!

Sizing runs about a half inch to an inch smaller than standard US sizes - not sure why Anetik chose a tighter cut since their apparel is geared towards fishing and water sports where you’re constantly using your arms.
I bought two shirts and had them sent over to England. I was filming a doco on a Spanish anchovy boat. They did an amazing job on protecting me from the sun but both arms on both shirts have started to pull/fray. Mixed feelings. The longevity on the shirts would be questioned.

Simms is normally my go-to when it comes to fishing shirts, but this one has snuck in as my new #1!
It feels very light, doesn't heat up in the sun, dries fast, tons of pockets that come in handy (measuring tape, scissors, chapstick, power pole remote, etc). Hood cinches down to keep my hat from blowing off.
